The popular outdoor brand with American roots was established in California in 1968. Despite bearing the name of the coldest and least accessible side of a mountain you can climb, it has helped many adventurers on their journey in the Himalayan mountains as well. In contrast, the story first started in sunny San Francisco when two hiking enthusiasts decided to open a shop with climbing equipment in 1966. The shop became quite popular, and two years later, The North Face moved to Berkeley on the other side of the bay. That's where the duo designed and created their own technical climbing products and equipment.
At the beginning of the '80s, The North Face brand became interested in skiing and added ski clothes for extreme conditions into its offer. And if you know how colorful the '80s were, you can imagine the color palette of these clothes too. Pastels, neons, pastels, and neons again. So put one and one together, and you'll realize where the colorful jackets, still popular today, came from. Thanks to all the adventures and exploring, the TNF soon stocked everything you might need, which is why it became the sole supplier of complex and high-quality equipment for extreme conditions in the US.
Over 50 years have passed, and The North Face outdoor equipment reached the top and it became a well-respected brand among mountain climbers, skiers, snowboarders, and other athletes. Thanks to collaborations with streetwear and fashion brands such as Vans, Supreme, Gucci, or Palace, TNF was popularized among fashionistas and artists, including Redman, Travis Scott, Method Man, or Drake.
The North Face is available at Footshop. The collection features T-Shirts, hoodies, windbreakers, iconic puffer jackets or winter jackets, and popular duffle bags. Never stop exploring!
