Originally, Mike Graham, who named the Gramicci brand after his nickname at Stonemasters, only designed gear for climbers. He started with portable tents that people could sleep in on rough terrain. And because he couldn't find comfortable shorts anywhere that were ideal for bouldering, he began designing and making his own. When he and his friends tried them out and made sure everything worked, the Gramicci brand was born. Not only did they begin offering specialized climbing gear, but they quickly jumped into making outdoor apparel that emphasized comfort, functionality and technology.

In 2011, to celebrate its 30th anniversary, Gramicci launched a special G Movement line with NPT fabric. It's a blend of the most durable and organically grown natural fibers, combined with free thinking to offer a different style for competitive athletes and the casual urban alpinist.
